About
At Susie Q Boarding, my number one priority is to provide quality service for all the fur babies in my care. I want you to rest easy knowing that I will take care of your dog as if they were my own. I understand that dogs are not just dogs, they are an integral part of our lives and our family. My goal is to create a "home away from home" experience for every dog.
Meet Susan
I have always loved animals and grew up in a home with dogs and cats. I currently have seven dogs and one cat, ranging in age from one to 15 years old. An avid volunteer with Foothills Humane Society and Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue, I am an active foster mom of over 35 dogs (mainly puppy litters) with a few "foster fails" along the way. I am a member of the International Boarding and Pet Services Association and earned my certification as a canine pet services specialist.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Gardner Webb University and a Master's degree from South University. After a fulfilling career in criminal justice both teaching and working as a probation and parole officer, I decided in 2021 to turn my love for animals into an opportunity to create an exclusive retreat for dogs on my property in Polk County.
